CHAPTER ONE
THE DOORS
The doors are linkages or translating points.
They are points of change. These descriptions only apply when they are open.
Closed doors are barriers. When the doors are
closed, it means there's no access. There can be no progress and no promotion.
They represent lost opportunities and may sometimes be referred to by men as
unchangeable situations.
In God's programs, the doors are open; the
opportunities are just unraveling, and the situations are turning around for
good. God changes things. He can turn
any bad situation around for good if only we trust and depend on Him. Focusing
on His greatness, faithfulness and love will give us insight into how to open
the doors.
We can depend on God's ability. The Bible
says “all things work together for good to them that love God, to them
who are the called according to His purpose” (Rom. 8:28). God also says
“for I know the thoughts that I think toward you, thoughts of peace and
not of evil, to give you an expected end” (Jer. 29:11). The Lord God
has good intentions for us as His children.
If the Lord could give us Jesus, what else is
too big? “He that spared not His own Son but delivered Him up for us all,
how shall He not with Him freely give us all things?” (Rom. 8:23). When
we see difficult situations or when we encounter seemingly unchangeable
conditions, then we should look for the good that God is bringing to us through
them since we know that all things work together for good to them that love
God.
No man and no situation can nullify the word
of God. God says the doors are open before us. The opportunities are multiple.
We can take the land for our heritage. Nothing is able to stop us.
We should also realize that a door in a
building can be closed intentionally.
In adverse weather conditions, the closed
doors help to protect the occupants from things like harmattan haze, rain or
snow, depending on the part of the world the person is.
They also help to keep away unwelcome guests
like thieves and animals whose intentions may not necessarily be in our own
interest. So, when God closes a door, you can be sure that it is for our own
good.
